After being together for almost ten years, we have decided to have a baby! Having friends and family all over the world, we thought a blog would be the best way to share our exciting journey. ~ Wabi

Happy Easter!

Sending you much love this Easter. We are enjoying lovely weather today. Hope you are doing the same.
Three things happened today that made me very happy. The first, I ate an egg and didn't get sick! It was cooked hard and covered in green chili - probably the only way I could get down the hatchet. I am going to try a hard boiled egg tomorrow. Still no luck with chicken.
The second, I was finally successful in finding a bra in my current size (36 DDD) Thank you Lane Bryant. Unfortunately they aren't nursing, but at this point I'll take what I can get.
The third, Will is going to be able to join me on my trip out to AZ in May. He was able to use points, so he's flying for free. Double hooray!
My next doctor's appointment is Wednesday and will let you know how it goes.

Shakin' & Bloomin'

I took a walk around the neighborhood today, and enjoyed the beautiful weather. It was 72 and sunny. Everything is starting to bud and blossom, it is remarkable. There is new life everywhere. The city has an amazing energy when the weather finally starts to warm up. I love New York in the spring time.

I think we may have a future bass player. That wascally wabbit just loves to play with my umbilical cord. When we saw Hannis Brown and Bad Buka play earlier this week, he was dancing up a storm. He should also be able to touch and hold his feet now. Something that is a little difficult for me to picture happening inside of me. Wish I had x-ray glasses. I don't need glasses however to feel the fists that he is starting to make. They take the breathe right out of me.

Hope you took time to smell the flowers today.

Love my growing belly!

We have been so busy lately, I feel bad that I haven’t written in awhile. Sorry.

I am doing well, I've been trying to take it easy as I’m fighting something off. Will has been in Vegas all week for work, which has left me home alone. I’m loving it. I also expect it will be the last time for a very long time that I get the place all to myself. It has given me a nice opportunity to simply listen to my body. Which just wants to sleep and watch old movies.
I feel the little fella move all the time. I can now tell when he is awake and when he’s sleeping. I have even seen his movements inside me. It is a little mind blowing at times. He seems to be most active when I’m trying to fall asleep at night. Which usually isn’t a problem when Will is here. He simply rubs my belly and sings Golden Slumbers (Beatles) and he calms down. However, I have tried this in Will’s absence and it just doesn’t work.
The cat knows somethings up. JD loves to lay across my belly in bed. The baby seems to like the vibrations from JD’s purr and starts to move around when he’s there. The baby’s movements have definitely freaked JD out a couple of times. I’m a little concerned how he will do once the baby comes. He’ll be 10 this August, and has been my baby before I even met Will. And he did not like Will at the beginning. I think it would be easier for him if Atreyu was still with us.
If the little fella stays in there till August, then I'll be living with three August babies. How random is that?

It's a ...

Thank you Aunt Debbie for bringing to my attention that my post from last week was never published. Instead, it saved as a draft. Oops! Better late than never...

We had a sonogram today and I am excited to announce that we are having a BOY!
After much discussion about whether or not to find out (Will wanted to know, while I wanted to be surprised) we ended up learning the sex of the wabbit. We have a perfectly healthy baby boy. He is right on track for 20 weeks and 1 day, weighing in at 12 ounces. We are so excited and could not be happier! Despite me wanting to wait, there is something very special and touching knowing that I have a little boy growing inside me. I now know who has been keeping me up at night with his kicking.  :)

Much love.

20 weeks down, 20 weeks to go!

I am at the half way mark and I can't believe how fast it is all going (and growing).  In the past week, my belly has grown an inch and a half, I've moved up another bra size, and finally gained a pound.
It's amazing how already the wabbit is becoming an individual. The baby has fingerprints and has very developed taste buds already. They say that the baby is more likely to like the foods that it tastes while in the womb. Good thing I love my veggies.
We have been in Florida the past five days visiting Grandma-to-be Paula. It was wonderful to get out of the wet and cold and enjoy the warm sunshine. I had no trouble traveling, aside from the frequent trips to the restroom. While there we caught the 12 hours of Sebring Car Race and the wabbit liked all the fast cars, almost as much as Daddy and Uncle Dan. It hasn't stopped moving sine then. It is all so exciting.

We have another sonogram tomorrow afternoon, and I'm looking forward to seeing our little one.

From Green to Glowing

I think it is finally safe to say that I am over my morning sickness. It has been just about two weeks now, hooray! People are telling me that I am simply glowing. It is a nice change from feeling so green.
There has been a lot of belly movement this week. I'm still waiting for that first distinctive kick from this wascally wabbit. I don't expect I will have to wait too much longer as it is a big week for growth. The baby is expected to grow about 2.5 inches. Which is about how much my belly has grown this past week. It's unbelievable. I don't know how I haven't gained any weight any yet. My doctor asked me if I was eating.. YES! So I'm under strict orders from the doctor to gain about 25 lbs over the next 20 weeks. I think that should be doable now that I'm feeling better.

I went to the eye doctor yesterday and found out that my vision has gotten substantially worse. It has been the same for the past four years, until now. It was a relief to know that I'm not going crazy, just blind. Hopefully it is just the hormones and will return once I am finished nursing. Only time will time.

School was really great this week. I learned to make corsages and boutonnieres, head wreaths, horizontal parallel and vertical mass designs. The vertical mass (with the roses) is my favorite so far (and it's so easy). I'm loving it!

A Delightful Week!

I had a very busy yet wonderful week. It was filled with of old friends and good food, yoga and flowers, love and laughter.

We had a follow up with the doctor this week. We got the blood results back from the second trimester screening, and everything looks good. Amen. I got to listen to the baby's heartbeat again, very strong. It's amazing to hear two sets of heart beats inside me.  Our next sonogram is March 22nd. We're looking forward to seeing the lil' wabbit.

Conor was in town for four days. It was so great seeing him, and his parents. He had a long layover before continuing on to Italy and Ireland with his father. ( I'm jealous!) We also got to see a lot of Hannis while Conor was here. Really nice having old friends together again.

I also started my floral design classes this week. I am learning so much and absolutely loving it. Not to mention, the apartment smells wonderful. It makes for sweet smelling late night bathroom runs.
