After being together for almost ten years, we have decided to have a baby! Having friends and family all over the world, we thought a blog would be the best way to share our exciting journey. ~ Wabi

Almost the end of the second trimester...

I can't believe how quickly it is all happening.
I had an appointment with Dr. Feldman yesterday. She says the baby and I look great. He has a nice strong heart beat and she is finally happy with my weight gain, hooray! She did mention that I'm measuring big, but have been from the beginning. She thinks that it's just the way I'm carrying , however, I will be going in for an ultrasound in a couple weeks just to double check.  Starting now, I will be going in every two to three weeks until he's born. My next appointment is May 10 and I will be taking a glucose test for gestational diabetes, which is standard. Otherwise I have been officially cleared to fly and am really excited about my upcoming trip to Arizona.

I have been trying to make the most of my time before our little miracle arrives. Will and I met up after work and went for a lovely walk through Central Park. The weather was simply beautiful and the park was stunning with all the blooming trees. I've included a few photos below from the park, too beautiful not to share. It was perfect park weather, Will even bought me an ice cream cone - so good!
I am finding that my appetite is growing and my desire for Red Vine licorice is still holding strong. I have had to limit my intake because I can easily go through a family size bag in a day. Other than that,  I've been mostly wanting fruits and veggies, with the occasional chocolate cake. No super crazy food cravings as of yet.

Will is the most loving and caring husband. He brought me fresh flowers the other day just because. And he is over the moon excited about the baby. He keeps saying he can't wait until he's here... I kindly remind him that he can.  I don't think he fully grasps how completely our lives are going to change once he is born. I am certain I don't.  It is moving to see him so in love with our son before he is even born.

Happy Easter!

Sending you much love this Easter. We are enjoying lovely weather today. Hope you are doing the same.
Three things happened today that made me very happy. The first, I ate an egg and didn't get sick! It was cooked hard and covered in green chili - probably the only way I could get down the hatchet. I am going to try a hard boiled egg tomorrow. Still no luck with chicken.
The second, I was finally successful in finding a bra in my current size (36 DDD) Thank you Lane Bryant. Unfortunately they aren't nursing, but at this point I'll take what I can get.
The third, Will is going to be able to join me on my trip out to AZ in May. He was able to use points, so he's flying for free. Double hooray!
My next doctor's appointment is Wednesday and will let you know how it goes.

Shakin' & Bloomin'

I took a walk around the neighborhood today, and enjoyed the beautiful weather. It was 72 and sunny. Everything is starting to bud and blossom, it is remarkable. There is new life everywhere. The city has an amazing energy when the weather finally starts to warm up. I love New York in the spring time.

I think we may have a future bass player. That wascally wabbit just loves to play with my umbilical cord. When we saw Hannis Brown and Bad Buka play earlier this week, he was dancing up a storm. He should also be able to touch and hold his feet now. Something that is a little difficult for me to picture happening inside of me. Wish I had x-ray glasses. I don't need glasses however to feel the fists that he is starting to make. They take the breathe right out of me.

Hope you took time to smell the flowers today.

Love my growing belly!

We have been so busy lately, I feel bad that I haven’t written in awhile. Sorry.

I am doing well, I've been trying to take it easy as I’m fighting something off. Will has been in Vegas all week for work, which has left me home alone. I’m loving it. I also expect it will be the last time for a very long time that I get the place all to myself. It has given me a nice opportunity to simply listen to my body. Which just wants to sleep and watch old movies.
I feel the little fella move all the time. I can now tell when he is awake and when he’s sleeping. I have even seen his movements inside me. It is a little mind blowing at times. He seems to be most active when I’m trying to fall asleep at night. Which usually isn’t a problem when Will is here. He simply rubs my belly and sings Golden Slumbers (Beatles) and he calms down. However, I have tried this in Will’s absence and it just doesn’t work.
The cat knows somethings up. JD loves to lay across my belly in bed. The baby seems to like the vibrations from JD’s purr and starts to move around when he’s there. The baby’s movements have definitely freaked JD out a couple of times. I’m a little concerned how he will do once the baby comes. He’ll be 10 this August, and has been my baby before I even met Will. And he did not like Will at the beginning. I think it would be easier for him if Atreyu was still with us.
If the little fella stays in there till August, then I'll be living with three August babies. How random is that?
