After being together for almost ten years, we have decided to have a baby! Having friends and family all over the world, we thought a blog would be the best way to share our exciting journey. ~ Wabi

Somersault Sonogram

We had our second trimester screening today at Carnegie Women Imaging. It consisted of a sonogram and more blood work (my favorite). The baby was all over the place during the sonogram, doing little somersaults. The wascally little wabbit even waved at us. Although it is only 5 inches and 5 ounces, we got to see it's extremities including fingers, spine and kidneys. We even saw the blood flowing through the body. It is a little surreal to see this little thing inside me looking more like a real baby. It has a strong and healthy heart beat, and everything is looking great so far. I will get the results of the blood next week when I meet with my OB.  It stayed still long enough for the profile shot below.
I am doing much better now that I am in the second trimester. Still have the occasional morning sickness, but am relieved that it's not every day. I am really enjoying being pregnant at this time. Belly shots to follow soon.

Happy Heart Day!

Wishing you a happy heart day. We are full of love today. Will sent me flowers and the lil' wabbit a teddy bear. So sweet. I've been feeling little tickles and flutters in my belly for the past few days. Wondering if it the little one moving around in me. So exciting to think that it might be.
Sending you love and hugs today!

It's a navel orange!

Today the wascally wabbit is the size of a navel orange. No wonder I've got a little baby bump. I am still a little green, but am feeling much better overall.  Wondering if my aversion to garlic, chicken and eggs are ever going to subside.
We have been doing a lot of "nesting" lately. I've been spending my time going through and cleaning our apartment, one room at a time. While Will has been keeping busy with various fix-it projects.  Figured if we are going to stay in our Astoria apartment for a little while, why not make the best of it.  It's nice to finally have the time.

The Start of the Second Trimester . . .

This week marks the beginning of the second trimester. Will and I are both breathing a little easier now. We met with Dr. Danielle Feldman earlier this week and the results from the first trimester screening came back. Everything is as good as can be. We heard the heart beat again, which never seizes to amaze me. It is so fast. I'm just waiting for Will to make a song out of the beat. Will was more than a little disappointed that we didn't do another sonogram. I have to admit, we both wanted to see our little wabbit.  All in all, the baby and I are doing great. I've enjoyed a reprieve from morning sickness for the past couple of days which has been a nice change. I've actually felt like a normal person. I was a little scared I'd be sick the entire nine months, but feel confident that I will continue to feel better once the second trimester is in full swing.
Go Packers!
